Dahna Sanders

Dahna Sanders’ passion for banking began early in life and has evolved into a career dedicated to helping individuals and businesses achieve financial success.

“My banking career began while I was still in high school,” Dahna recalled. “A regional bank participated in a career fair during my senior year, and after graduation, I accepted a position as a teller, while attending a local college.”

From her start on the teller line to later serving as a Banking Center Manager, Dahna built her career around helping clients improve their financial wellbeing. Those experiences also helped her discover her passion for leadership and relationship-building.

“Throughout my career, I developed a strong commitment to both leadership and client service,” she said. “When an opportunity became available in Workplace Banking, it aligned perfectly with my interests and career goals.”

After joining First Merchants Bank in 2014, Dahna played an instrumental role in developing and launching the Workplace Banking program. In that role, she partnered with employers, schools and community organizations to deliver financial wellness education and First Merchants resources that empowered individuals to make informed financial decisions.

In 2025, Dahna transitioned into Small Business Banking. Today, she focuses on building meaningful relationships with small business owners and connecting them with the banking solutions, resources and expertise needed to support their growth and long-term success.

“What I enjoy most about my role is the continuous opportunity to learn,” Dahna said. “Every day brings new experiences and insights that help me grow professionally, and that growth enables me to better serve my clients and contribute to their success.”

Dahna also values the collaborative culture and strong performance of the Indy North and South Markets, which she supports and partners with.

“Being part of a team that consistently delivers exceptional results is incredibly rewarding,” she shared. “What I appreciate most is our collective commitment to exceeding client expectations and finding ways to make a meaningful impact.”

Outside of work, Dahna is deeply committed to community involvement. She regularly volunteers with organizations that support education and economic empowerment, including Junior Achievement’s BizTown program, local schools, and The Hope Center. When she is not working or volunteering, she enjoys spending time outdoors and creating memories with her husband, kids and two granddaughters.

Through her dedication to service, leadership and lifelong learning, Dahna continues to make a positive impact on the clients, colleagues, and communities she serves.
