Go green with eStatements

It's easy to enroll in eStatements! The service is free and available for checking and savings accounts to all Online Banking customers.

Note: If you are not yet an Online Banking customer, you will need to sign-up for Online Banking before you can enroll in eStatements.

To sign up:

  1. Sign in to the First Merchants Mobile App or First Merchants Personal Online Banking.
  2. Choose 'Account Services', then 'eDocument Preferences'.
  3. Click the edit icon to change from paper statement to eStatement.
  4. Review and accept the service agreement.
  5. You'll be able to view your eStatements in 'Account Services' under 'eDocument' when the next statement is printed.


  • Once you're signed up to receive eStatements, you will receive an email each time a new statement is available.
  • If you choose eStatements, and any statements were previously bundled with another checking or savings account, the statements will then be delivered separately.
  • eStatement requests from any owner/signer/Administrator will be accepted as the customer's statement delivery choice on behalf of all owners/signers/Administrators, and paper statements will be discontinued.
  • Statements will be available in the eDocuments Center for up to 18 months.
  • If you would like to also receive paper statements for any of your accounts showing in eStatements, please contact Customer Service at 1.800.205.3464. A monthly fee may apply for paper statements, depending on account type; the eStatement service is available at no charge.

It’s easy to enroll your accounts into eStatements. Simply go to the More tab, Select the eDocument Preferences, then choose the account and follow the steps.  You will then get your next statement in the eDocuments. These are easily printable pdfs in eDocuments.
Log in to online banking and go to the “Accounts” tab. Select “eDocuments and read through the Terms and Conditions located at the lower half of the page. Copy the code listed at the bottom of the terms and enter the code in the “Confirmation Code” box at the top of the page. You will then be registered for eStatements. Open at least one statement to verify all eStatements have been created.

If you are currently receiving check images with your statement, you will continue receiving those images if you are an eStatements customer.

eStatements will be available in your online archive for 18 months.

To view your eStatement, simply sign in to Online Banking, then choose 'eDocuments' under the 'Accounts tab' (personal users) or 'View eStatements' under the 'Reports' tab (business users). Once enrolled, you can view up to 18 months of eStatements! You will need Adobe Reader to view your statement. If you do not have Adobe Reader, you can download it here for free.

Yes. The statement will appear just like your paper statement, only it will be in a PDF format.

All checking and savings accounts offer eStatements. Certificates of Deposit and loans do not have eStatement functionality at this time.
