First Merchants Bank understands the importance of building and supporting our local communities through volunteerism. In September, First Merchants team members participated in the United Way Day of Action by serving at Ross Community Center.

It has come to our attention that there has been a merchandising payment system data breach that occurred at several Focus Brands’ restaurants between April and July 2019.

First Merchants Corporation (NASDAQ: FRME) and MBT Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: MBTF) have finalized a merger of the two companies. Following regulatory approvals last month, the companies consummated their legal closing through a 100% stock transaction effective September 1, 2019. As previously announced in late 2018, Monroe Bank & Trust will also merge with and into First Merchants Bank.

According to the 2019 AFP - Payments Fraud and Control survey report: 80% of organizations experienced Business Email Compromise (BEC).

In April, team members from the Muncie East Region participated in a FMB Serves Community Day at the YWCA of Central Indiana.
