Sometimes a few minutes’ forewarning is all you need to foil fraud. By opting in to First Merchants security alerts, you can gain that valuable time and get a heads up when someone tries to access your account.
With security alerts, you’ll get a notice if, among other things:
- Someone tries to log into your account.
- Someone tries to make an external transfer from your account.
- A valid password is submitted, or your password is changed.
- A new user has been created on your account.
- Someone tries to add a new device to your account, such as a computer or mobile device.
- Your account ID is locked or disabled.
These alerts are sent directly to the phone number associated with your account from one of First Merchants’ verified and secure numbers. If you receive one of these alerts and are not the one accessing or making changes to your account, contact us immediately to take steps to prevent loss.
Security alerts are available on your online and mobile dashboard and can be applied to all your First Merchants accounts. Learn how to set up security alerts.
