First Merchants Corporation, a $18 billion financial holding company, has elected Kevin D. Johnson and Jason R. Sondhi to the Boards of Directors of First Merchants Corporation and First Merchants Bank. Johnson, President and Chief Executive Officer for the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, has focused on job creation, capital investment and small business growth for the City of Detroit since 2018. Sondhi, Founder and President of Sondhi Solutions, headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, oversees the strategy of his IT staffing and consulting company serving small to mid-sized enterprise businesses and governmental agencies.

Few things are more important than inspiring young people to take control of their finances. David Greene, Region President for First Merchants Bank, experienced that first-hand when he and other team members recently spoke to the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.

MUNCIE, Ind. – Today, First Merchants Bank was ranked fourth in the list of the 2022 Great Employers to Work for in Indiana by Best Companies Group, a BridgeTower Media Company. The honor considered a review of practices, programs and benefits, and anonymous employee surveys.

Today, First Merchants Bank celebrated the opening of Northland’s newest banking center. Located at 1925 Morse Road, the center is the bank’s eighth location in Columbus. The location was chosen because of the revitalization taking place in the neighborhood. First Merchants Bank leaders, community influencers, Columbus City Councilmember Emmanuel V. Remy and First Merchants Corporation board member Clark C. Kellogg were in attendance.
