The September 21 event featured more than 20 men traversing an entire block wearing 2+ inch high heels.

Since 1911, the YWCA of Muncie has been a pioneer for social change through innovative initiatives and programs to improve the lives of women and their families in Muncie. While continuing to utilize the original layout of the facility, the organization has evolved into a shelter for homeless women and women with children. Some residents stay one or two days, while others may remain for a couple of years as they work to regain the ability to provide for themselves and the confidence to move on. Numerous programs and community partnerships help provide a variety of services for the residents based on situation and need.

In addition to residential services, the YWCA operates a 24-hour emergency shelter for women, girls, and families who are at risk or homeless, as well as a prison reentry program for women returning into the community from jail or prison. To help fund residential programs and assistance, the YWCA of Muncie provides programs such as exercise, water aerobics, residential programs, building rentals, and other activities.
