Volunteers Support United Way Community Market

October 23, 2012

DECATUR, Ind. – On Tuesday, October 16, volunteers from First Merchants Bank in Decatur participated in the annual United Way Community Market Day at a local grocery store. Volunteers bagged groceries, helped customers to their cars, retrieved carts, and collected receipts and donations to the United Way. First Merchants’ volunteers donated one hour per person.

The United Way Community Market Day allows the United Way and its volunteers to partner up with local grocery stores to collect donations from shoppers. The Community Market donated five percent of its sales to the United Way, plus an additional percentage for each grocery receipt collected.

First Merchants is proud to support its communities and local non-profit organizations. To learn more about volunteer opportunities with the United Way of Adams County, visit http://www.unitedwayofadamscounty.com/.
