Commerce Employees Volunteer at Mid-Ohio Foodbank

May 29, 2012
COLUMBUS, Ohio - On Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 11 Commerce National Bank employees had the opportunity to help provide food for those in need in our community. This 2012 Community Day was held at the Mid-Ohio Food Bank in Grove City, Ohio, where CNB staff helped sort and pack food for senior citizens' meals.

The Mid-Ohio Foodbank provides 248,000 meals each year to individuals and families in Columbus who need a helping hand to meet nutritional needs. The senior citizens of central Ohio account for 15 percent of the meals collected and distributed.

The mission of Mid-Ohio Foodbank is to relieve hunger through the collection and distribution of groceries and food products. Mid-Ohio Foodbank also educates the community about hunger, advocates for hunger relief programs and collaborates with other groups that serve basic human needs. The event was a part of the Commerce National Bank Serves campaign, where employees partner with various groups and organizations to give back to the community.

As a part of the First Merchants Corporation family, Commerce National Bank is committed to the community. CNB employees participate in planned community days throughout the year to help  local groups and agencies in need, and create a positive impact in their community.
