DECATUR, Ind. - The Adams Public Library System recently acquired the property across from the Decatur branch through a gift from First Merchants Bank. Library director Kelly Ehinger notes, “The location is perfect for outdoor programming and is a dream come true!”

Library officials announced that the property will be turned into a green space, helping to beautify downtown Decatur. The garden will include benches, shady areas, and will be used for story times and other outdoor library events.

Ehinger adds that the additional property was made possible by the benevolence of the bank. She encourages library patrons to thank First Merchants Bank for their generosity that will not only help develop downtown Decatur, but also will help to enhance library services.
